If you live a certain lifestyle you are doomed to be forgetful and most likely out of focus. This experience could be scary for some people. But personally, I decided to chill and experience what this is all about.
A few years ago, I was so focused like a razor-sharp knife, I was able to concentrate on my tasks and work for hours without being distracted easily. Remember the rise of MSN messenger? Yahoo messenger? And how about a trillion messenger? Yes, exactly that is where all of these happened.
It was the time whenever you turn on your computer and open your Hotmail or yahoo mail to see what kind of a funny forward message is sent to you. You would have all these people from a messenger trying to devour your attention, You have just entered a valley of death, demons and monsters are there to hunt your attention and eat it for dessert.
It was this era where the attention span became a rare element, the kind of element that the internet and people on the internet are willing to sell for a dollar for the thousandth attention. It was the era of flashy and blinking banners, scarry pop-up windows, and yesss don’t forget the infamous Nigerian scam email.
When I dialed back the dial on my time machine, it seems to point to this channel, this is it! This is the moment we all started to get this sickness, the sickness of forgetfulness, the sickness of micro-attention-span.
Fast forwarding, I discovered the incarnation of the same gang the kind of a gang who cracks people’s attention and sells it to witchdvertisers. Their crafts are to elude you into buying the things you don’t want, the things to just show off. They hypnotize you to sign up for newsletters and finally sell your attention to the devil.
The witchdvertisers have successfully put it on your hand. How dare it vibrates, it vibrates when you are in your sacred place, cleansing out your body out of the unwanted food, it notifies you even when you are in a meeting. It reminds you it is time, time to come back and get milked again, play some more game, someone has updated their status, there is a new message.
