Ultimate Ritual to Cleanse Your Five Temples
Using the power of the five elements
The Universe is created by five fundamental elements. Although the ancients did not explain them clearly, they understood their significance. The topic of five elements is a life path that is a very broad topic.
I wrote a detailed article explaining the five elements. Check it out in the link below.
These five elements are based on our five senses. It is however not that simple since there is a fractal pattern that there are elements within elements.
This article is not primarily about the five elements but gives you a ritual that you can do on a daily basis or whenever you feel out of balance. And by balancing these elements within yourself you will also balance the external environment.
Besides the five elements, we have within ourselves the containers of the five elements, which are the temples. It is advised to cleanse and balance these elements within your five-element temples.
Let’s recap:
Essentially all the cultural five elements are the same, the trick is to understand them based on your five senses. Sometimes you may find that one cultural element is mixed with another, so to remove confusion, I will explain as follows:
The five elements are as follows:
- Sky — Sight
- Space — Smell
- Water — Hearing
- Earth — Taste
- Mountain — Touch
The five primary body systems associated with these elements are as follows.
- The nervous system is the Sky temple, — Head.
- The respiratory system is the Space temple. — Chest.
- The digestive system that is the Earth temple — Stomach.
- The bones and muscle system that is the Water temple — Limbs.
- The reproductive system is the Mountain temple. — Waist.
The principle behind the cleansing ritual.
There are secondary temples and primary, the primary temples I have mentioned above. The head, right and left hands, right and left legs are secondary temples. And every gesture you make signifies something.
The left hand is the receiving hand, while the right hand is the giving hand. The right leg is the moving leg, while the left leg keeps you on your foundation. If you want to move away from your current situation it is the left leg that we will work with as a secondary Mountain temple.
When you are performing your own cleansing ritual, you use your left hand to receive and your right hand to give. For example, let’s say your life has no direction. You want clarity in life or some insights into what choices to make, but your mind is clouded. The head is your primary temple.
So what you do by using your giving hand, the right hand you place it at the top of your head while raising the left hand to receive. You’re left leg because it is the foundation, but you want to move away from that state so you place your left leg on the sand, implying that you are shattering that reality, while you place your right leg on a rock to solidify that situation.
The sun is the element of the sky, or the moon or the stars. You would face the sun with your left hand up to receive cleansing energy and purification of the sky temple. Then you state your intentions or pray accordingly.
The ritual is very simple but effective because you are speaking the universal language.
Directions:
You will need a basin of water, sand, a stone (should be relatively big to be able to stand on), Do it during a clear sky where you see the sun and should be early morning at sunrise. It would be even better if you could perform it at the top of the mountain, just make sure you have access to these other elements.
The elements you are cultivating are natural elements, the sun, wind, water, earth, and rock/stones.
Powerful Five Element Temple Cleansing Ritual
I call upon the water, sun, the earth, wind, and mountains.
THE TEMPLE OF LIGHT
Face the sun (East), Place your right hand on top of your head, and raise your left hand. Place your left leg on the sand (representing shift and change of where you were standing) and your right leg on the rock affirming your intention.
“I raise my face towards the Sun as the temple of light asking the Sun to cleanse it off anything that doesn’t serve me anymore, and because it is the face, I also cleanse all other faces that are not my true face, the faces that I have accumulated over time because of fear.”
Once you are done, still facing the direction of your element, put your hands together as if you are praying, bow down with gratitude.
THE TEMPLE OF SPACE
Face West which is the direction of Space, then Place your right hand at the center of your chest and raise your left hand. Place your left leg on the sand (representing shift and change of where you were standing) and your right leg on the rock affirming your intention.
“I raise my left hand, calling upon the wind, the right hand being the temple of space, this is the dominant hand where I create things with it, I cleanse it off all things that I have done negatively to affect others and myself. I cleanse my primary temple of space which represents my willpower, I clear everything that has lowered my self-confidence and freedom of self-expression to be clear of my temple of space.”
Once you are done, still facing the direction of your element, put your hands together as if you are praying, bow down with gratitude.
EARTH TEMPLE
Face North which is the direction of Element Earth, then Place your right hand at the center of your belly button and raise your left hand. Now place your left leg on the rock and your right leg on the sand. You squat down touching the ground with your left hand.
With my hand touching the ground, I am grounding myself and connecting to the earth spirits and mother earth. Cleanse my health and rejuvenate my harmonies with the earth. I plant myself on this land to be acknowledged by my community and all other living beings as part of them.
I dip my right leg in soil, the right leg is the secondary temple of earth, it grounds me and helps me to move around by taking the first step, so I clear all obstacles that keep me on the unhealthy grounds and everything that keeps on holding me down I remove it.
Once you are done, still facing the direction of your element, put your hands together as if you are praying, bow down with gratitude.
MOUNTAIN TEMPLE
The pillar of the foundation is the center, the fifth element is at the center of the five elements, so while you are doing this ritual you have to lay down with your head facing East (Where the sun rises), and extend your hands on both sides, lay down like a star with your legs slightly apart. Put the elements on each hand accordingly, so the left hand should be facing the water, the right-hand air, the left leg rock, and the right leg sand/earth.
Place both your hands on your waist like superman, I call upon the mountains the pillar of my foundation, this is the temple of the mountain, it is my foundation, where I stand, I strengthen my foundation and improve my stability, I remove everything that destabilizes my foundation.
Once you are done, you place your palms together and the soles of your feet together while still laying down, bow your head down slightly with gratitude.
WATER TEMPLE
Face South which is the direction of Water, Because all limbs combined represent the primary water temple, put sand and rock into the water, enter into the water basin, if you are at the beach, river or lake it is every better just enter into the lake. While inside the water, place your left leg on the rock and your right hand on the sand.
I cleanse my left hand with water, which is the secondary temple of water, the left hand is where I hold things to support the right hand, so the things that I hold negatively I cleanse all of them and welcome new and exciting things in my life.
I cleanse my right hand with water, to clean the works of my hand and everything I have done and considered doing. Anything that is blocking my way, I cleanse it off my projects and work.
I cleanse my right leg because this is where I am going and where I have been, open opportunities and paths to where I want to go, lead me in the right direction, and help me to remove all obstacles on my path.
I cleanse my left leg because this is where I am standing, and this is the foundation of my life, I clear all misunderstandings and unstable relationships, I want my leg to foot on a solid foundation, the kind of foundation that will last longer. And protect me from anything that is trying to move me away from my foundation.
Once you are done, still facing the direction of your element, put your hands together as if you are praying, bow down with gratitude. After you have completed all rituals you take a shower.
