Why do Highly Spiritual People Struggle in Life?
Challenges of an Authentic Spiritual life.

From a young age, I perceived the world as it truly is, yet I couldn’t grasp why it was so. Religion, education, and societal norms all felt like alien impositions on my spirit. At that time, my spiritual teachings were limited to Christianity. I recall a deep yearning to understand God, but I was met with numerous unanswered questions and dilemmas.
In Sunday school, I recall someone asking, “Why didn’t Adam and Eve die immediately after eating the fruit of knowledge of good and evil?” The response was that they eventually died. Other questions arose, such as, “If God knows everything, why test Adam and Eve when the outcome is obvious?” Such inquiries linger in your heart like seeds, guiding you to a better conclusion.
for a long time, I have struggled, mostly spiritually and socially, trying to find where I belong without much success. I explored a couple of spiritual teachings and philosophy without much satisfaction. While others resonated with me, I found hidden motives within the social groups. So, in general, my spiritual path has been a solitary one.
Why do highly spiritual people struggle?
In years of observation, I have noticed that the first thing that makes most authentic spiritual people struggle is authenticity. So, while there are those who simply label themselves as spiritual people, they somehow lack the genuine meaning behind being spiritual, they are simply there for sensationalism and ecstasy. They are there to just get their minds blown away and be inspired but lack the genuine quest for truth. As a result of this, they emphasize shallow experiences more than this genuine quest for truth, this makes a genuine truth seeker suffer for it.
The second reason is highly spiritual people are simply from a higher place. By a higher place I mean that deep down in the soul level, they have seen it all and experienced it all for trivial things to make them tick. Because of this they keep on searching for something with solid foundation, while the world of commerce and social lifestyle suffocates them, as a result, they become empty not knowing what they lack because of forgetting their true nature.
The third reason is the nature of higher truth. I find it interesting that once Jesus said: “his yoke is gentle,” so however you interpret this, it simply means that the higher truths does not come forcefully by a brute force, because there is no reinforcement. This higher energy is feminine in nature, it is very passive. It required humbleness, and passivity. It often reveals itself when you are not searching for it.
Because of this, you will find that most highly spiritual people vibrate on that level where they do not simply have the time and energy to prove themselves to anyone, nor do they have time to reinforce their understanding to anyone.
As a result, they find themselves chewed and pinned between other’s propaganda, because in this world, everything must be “worked on”. Everything carries the banner of “Hard work” and ‘personal effort’ while the higher truths are the opposite. No one worked hard or made a personal effort to come to this world, neither did anyone’s personal effort made them grow an inch taller.
The final reason but not least is looking outside themselves. In modern society there is an information overload, everyone is blubbering about everything while others regurgitate other blurbs. The sad thing is the originality is disappearing especially at the rise of Artificial Intelligence, it’s really like recycled fast food. So, while the inner guidance is right within themselves, it becomes extremely hard for these individuals to reconnect with themselves because they are looking outside and beyond themselves.
How can you tune into your inner rhythms?
Like I said earlier I have walked this path and quite frankly it is an ongoing struggle that I battle with daily, I fall and pick up myself and continue my journey. The key is to find this inner compass, which will guide you and lead you whenever you are in need.
- First be authentic; be honest with yourself and how you live your life. Forget about getting caught up in a social dilemma, live not to please others but live your truth. Trust me, it gets easier over time; the good part is you will lose friends and even family but gain authentic friends that will always be there for you.
- Second is a daily devotion, find a spiritual activity that will reconnect and rejuvenate your spiritual energies. These include meditation, praying, spiritual reading, channeling, energy exercise, rituals, spiritual cleansing such as spiritual baths and so on. Get involved in things that will remind you of your path, talk about your inspirations, your ideas with those who resonate with you. This will keep your spirit alive.
- Find a spiritual guidance, this spiritual guidance including initiating a communication with your spiritual guides, if you are a Christian accept holy spirit, and so on. The point here is that there are always highs and lows in life, there are moments where you will drain out all your resources and need higher guidance, they will hold your arm and lead you to a safer haven.
- Know your ground, it is important to draw a line and not be too nice to everyone, because while you have good intentions, not everyone has good intentions or has moral values like you. It is important to know where you stand in your spiritual values. Know when to accept something and when to decline. Other people carry negative and dark energies, which will drain you. So, it is important to know which serves you and which doesn’t.
Conclusion.
As long as you a highly spiritual person, the sad truth is this World is simply not your home, the earlier you realize it the easier you will deal with these spiritual challenges. The Matrix exists, the earlier you see it for what it is, the more peace of heart will settle within you. It becomes a double-edged sword because you simply can’t bury your head in the sand to forget it, better fight on the right side.
